Military Service Day is coming to the Patton Homestead at 650 Asbury St. in Hamilton. The free event is sponsored by the A. P. Gardner American Legion Post 194 and will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will celebrate military service in many forms and eras and will include military reenactors, enthusiasts and veterans sharing war history knowledge and artifacts from nearly every century. Visitors will be able to view memorabilia and get close to period military equipment.
Military Service Day will feature a 1943 M4A Sherman Tank Demonstration and a Massachusetts State Police EC135 Helicopter Landing!

Military Vehicles Including Half Tracks, Light Tanks, Heavy Trucks,
Artillery, Support Equipment, Memorabilia,
Massachusetts Mounted Park Rangers,
Massachusetts State Police K9 & More to be Announced!
The event will be held RAIN OR SHINE.
Parking will be located on the Homestead’s field parking lot and along Asbury Street across from the Homestead. The American Legion may ask for a $5 parking donation to help offset the costs of hosting the event. A police detail will be on hand to assist visitors crossing the street. There will be portable restrooms available on the grounds. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch or visit one of the Food Trucks that will be at the event.

Abbreviated tours of the Wenham Museum’s Patton Family Archive are available on a first come first served basis on Military Service Day. Interested parties should sign up when they arrive at the Homestead.
